You should have downloaded a file with a name such as 'autodocksuite-4.2.1-i86Linux2.tar.gz' for Linux, and 'autodocksuite-4.2.1-i86Darwin8' or 'autodocksuite-4.2.1-ppcDarwin8' for Mac OS X.
At the command line, change directory to the directory where you downloaded the file, (Note: you should substitute with the full path to where the downloaded file is):

For installing AutoDock binaries to a different location, modify the 'INSTALL' value in the script before thestep 4:

Once the installation procedure is terminated, is possible to remove the package and extracted files.

Manual installation

If the user doesn't have root/sudo privileges, or for some reason the installer fails, is possible to manually install the binaries. Follow steps 1-3 of the System installation procedure, then cd to the 'bin' subdirectory [NOTE: Mac users must choose the bin subdirectory most appropriate to their OS version] and move the files to a path where will be accessible:
